G2E Biocokes

Overview

Kinava's Selective Hydrothermal Oxidation (SHTO) technology produces commercial-grade bio-cokes, through hybrid HTC. It completely removes preservative chemicals which are in treated woods such as waste telephone poles and railway ties.

Benefits of the Technology (See table below)
  • The preservative chemicals are removed through selective oxidation reaction, and preservative wood, which was difficult to recycle, can be converted to Biocokes.
  •  Since the type of preservative is different depending on the preservative wood, the optimum catalyst for each type of preservative is developed for complete removal of the preservative chemical.
  • Efficient preservative wood treatment and fuel conversion are possible thanks to the simple composition of the process and the short process time compared to the typical preservative removal process.
  • By the utilization of waste heat generated during the process, it is easy to reduce energy/operating costs.
