Overview

Kinava's unique hybrid hydrothermal carbonization (Hybrid HTC) technology with optimized catalyst enables cracking of organic waste for reduction of volume of waste and fuelization of organic waste with high caloric value as much as premium coal level without harmful ingredients of regular coal.

Benefits of the Technology
  • Odor elimination effect. (refer to the table below)
  • Ash 1/10 of coal, no harmful ingredients such as heavy metals or tar.
  • High calorific value compared to wood pellets (premium coal-level calorific value possible: LHV 5,000~7,000kcal/kg).
  • Sludge biocoal using sewage sludge has a 148% (5,170kcal) caloric advantage over the existing sludge biocoal (3,500kcal/kg), and at the same time, it is possible to earn a higher selling price than the conventional sludge biocoal. (refer to the table below)
  • There is no dust issue generated during the manufacturing process of wood pellets or carbonized coal.
  • 1/3 of energy consumption compared to existing dry technology.
  • Optimization of heat quantity and operating conditions (temperature, pressure, process time) is possible by catalyst.
  • Increase in calorific value and economic effect by optimizing the mixing ratio of biomass (waste wood, sawdust, agricultural by-products, etc.) and applying appropriate catalysts.
  • Hybrid hydrothermal carbonization technology is applied to the rear end of sewage sludge dehydrator at sewage treatment plant to reduce the volume of sludge by 70% and reduce sludge treatment costs.
